Why Dolly Parton Is Bringing Children’s Books To Washington State

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program provides books free-of-charge to youngsters under the age of 5. The country music icon is now expanding her book program within the state of Washington and to celebrate the growth she stopped by the Pantages Theater in Tacoma to sings some tunes and share some positive sentiments to the crowd. She stressed the importance of being kind to your neighbors amidst rising political tensions and shared that her father—who was a hard-working man who was never taught how to read and write—was most proud of her work with the Imagination Library program.
