Dolly Parton’s remake of the late Tom Petty’s “Southern Accents” has been released to radio along with a video.
The music clip starts out with Tom Petty’s voice and then as Dolly sings, you start so see home videos of him as a kid. At a couple of points, you see Dolly holding one of his famous hats.
Through a press release, she said: “I was fortunate enough to get to know Tom over the years. He’s such an iconic artist and important songwriter. I’m so honored to be a part of this special album.”
Petty Country, is a collection of his music recorded by country artists such as Willie Nelson, Wynonna Judd & Lainey Wilson, Dierks Bentley, and George Strait. It comes out on June 21.
