Rory Feek Marries Daughter’s Teacher 8 Years After Wife’s Tragic Death

SHARE NOW

Rory Feek has remarried eight years after the tragic death of his wife, Joey. The 59-year-old country singer shared news of his marriage to Rebecca in a touching blog post he aptly titled, “The Wedding Singer.” The newly married couple were wed on July 14, “under a beautiful timber-frame pavilion” in Greycliff, Montana. Rory and Joey’s 10-year-old daughter, Indiana, even played matchmaker for her dad and his new wife. “Indiana only saw Rebecca as ‘Miss Rebecca’ her schoolteacher and our friend,” Feek wrote. “And although she had become much more than that to me, I was very careful to let Indy ‘figure it out’ on her own.”

Back in March, Indiana did figure it out. “Indiana just asked me something that I think you need to hear.” Rebecca said, sharing that Indiana told her, “‘Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa."” Rory says Indiana looked at him and said, “‘I told Miss Rebecca that my mama’s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother."” (Entertainment Tonight)
