The People’s Choice Country Awards will debut this year and nominations for the debut awards ceremony were announced this week. Some musicians were flooded with nominations while others were left out of the fun. Morgan Wallen was nominated for 11 awards, landing him the most nods of any artist, while Lainey Wilson was nominated for 7 awards, deeming her the most nominated woman. Despite all the chatter surrounding Jason Aldean’s newest song “Try That in a Small Town,” his chart-topping song was not included in the lineup. The new awards show created three totally unique categories that have never been seen in older awards ceremonies which include: The Crossover Song of 2023, The Concert Tour of 2023 and The Social Star of 2023. Winners will be revealed when the program is live streamed on NBC and Peacock on September 28th. (Billboard)
