Viral country star Oliver Anthony recently told Fox News he hopes “Rich Men North of Richmond” brings people together.
In his first ever interview, given during his North Carolina concert on Saturday (August 19th), Anthony said, “I want people to appreciate each other and appreciate each other’s struggles, and hopefully just find the energy that was in the song and manifest it in people’s own personalities — just try to find similarities with each other instead of divisions.”
The single made history by taking the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 after having not appeared on the chart ever before. According to the trade journal Hits, the singer is estimated to be making around "$40,000 a day from sales and streams of his music.
