Jimmie Allen posted a few Instagram stories yesterday (Wednesday, May 17th), his first since news broke of the lawsuit filed against him last week by his former female manager accusing him of sexual assault and abuse. In the first slide Jimmie wrote, “We Gonna Be Alright. This Too Shall Pass,” followed by a screenshot of For King & Country‘s “Burn The Ships,” adding the caption, “God only knows … He knows!” A few hours later he followed up with several scripture passages.
Jimmie was suspended from his record label and agent and dropped from his current manager in the wake of the lawsuit, in addition to being pulled from the CMA Fest lineup of performers.
His former manager, known in the lawsuit as “Jane Doe,” accuses the singer of multiple instances of “sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, sex trafficking and emotional distress” over an 18-month period.
Jimmie has denied these claims and maintains that he and the plaintiff were in a consensual sexual relationship for the better part of two years. During that time, Jimmie was married to his now-estranged wife, Alexis Gale, who recently filed for divorce. She is expecting the couple's third child together, a boy. Jimmie also has a son from a previous relationship.
